Natural Cordage Day

Natural Cordage Day

This course is an in-depth look at natural materials taken from plants and trees that can be used to make cordage.
Through the course of the day we will teach you the skills, and techniques to select, prepare and process these materials correctly.

Following lunch we will spend sometime making cordage from the processed materials, using a number of techniques. The cord we make can be used for many things, such as fishing lines, nets, traps, building ropes and cord for friction fire sets.

We will finally spend some time at making natural glues from material again harvested from plants and trees.

We operate from our woodland venue with log furniture around the camp so do feel free to bring additional items for your comfort throughout the day and please see our kit list for additional advice and recommendations. We will provide a light lunch and there will be hot and cold drinks and a composting style toilet for your comfort.
