WildWoodlands Family Bushcraft Day
This course has been designed for families to learn about about Bushcraft and practical outdoor living skills during a fun and safe weekend. No prior experience is required for you to attend this course.
We start the day at 9.00 am at the designated meeting point, after introductions and safety briefing. We then have a short walk from the car park into the woodland. During the walk we will point out the location for drinking water, washing area and composting toilet.
Once we arrive at our outdoor training area, the instructor will take you through knife safety usage and safe cutting techniques when using knives and saws.
Next we will move onto shelter building, following a brief introduction on resources and locations, an instructor will guide you through the shelter building process.
We will then be looking at how to source, filter and purify your water.
Lunch, involves learning how to prepare and cook fish over the open fire.
After lunch we will we look at fire lighting techniques using natural and man-made materials.
After a short break we spend the rest of our time foraging in and around the woodland learning about various plants and plant identification, tree identification and tree use.
Our courses are designed to be a fun experience and at no point during the course will you be expected to do anything that you are uncomfortable with. Our helpful and friendly instructors are always on hand with help, advice, and assistance.
